 Team

Sara Salhi founder and Co-leader of ArabsVan

Sara S, Co-Leader

Sara founded ArabsVan in September 2019 after arriving from the Middle East. Longing for a sense of home, she decided to create her own space where Arabs in Vancouver could connect and celebrate their shared culture. Sara is passionate about bringing people together and sharing her favorite aspects of Arabic culture. When she’s not busy designing her Arabic pins, you can find her cuddling her cat, playing piano or planning her next travel adventure.

Soundous, Co-Leader

Soundous joined ArabsVan in November 2019, bringing her passion for event planning and her curiosity about her own mixed identity. She’s dedicated to creating welcoming spaces and showcasing the richness and diversity of Arabic cultures. In her free time, Soundous enjoys spending time outdoors, experimenting with new recipes, and laughing with friends over a good board game.

Sara J, Co-Leader

A long-time member of ArabsVan, Sara joined the organizing team in 2022. Her easygoing nature and great sense of humor make her a comfort to new members. Beyond being a tech wizard, she has an eye for all things design. When she’s not dominating a game of MarioKart or playing volleyball, you’ll likely find her savoring a warm cup of coffee at her favorite café.
